Making the world a safer place by fostering friendships between members of allied and partner militaries

While globalisation increasingly dominates our economies and civil societies, international security cooperation simply refuses to globalise. ‘Security Assistance' forces poorly understand the enemy, the civilian population, and the unique aspects of their operational environment—worse still, they don't even understand their partners and allies. Too often, a desire to protect national interests results in an artificial “us” and “them” mindset that fosters distrust and inhibits cooperation.

The men and women around the world who have served together in combat, at institutions of professional military education, and during joint training exercises possess incredible bonds. These service-members genuinely understand and respect each other, and are bound together in the service of something larger than themselves.

It is essential we begin to leverage our “sameness” rather than our differences, and foster mutual understanding and appreciation to address the complex and dynamic threats of the 21st century with an alliance operating “at the speed of trust.”
